Description
Beestekuil Holiday Farm The farmhouse-accommodation facilities consist of one double en-suite room with its own private entrance and one bedroom with two single beds, sharing bathroom facilities. An extra bed, per room, can be provided on request.

The farm is run on a self-sustaining and eco-friendly basis. Electricity is provided by means of Solar panels. A diesel generator is on site to provide back-up power in case of too little sun. As the farm is on a watershed the borehole water is unpolluted.

Children are welcome and are allowed to help feed farm animals like goats, sheep, cows and horses.

The nearly 100 year old farmhouse has unique wall paintings apparently done by Italian prisoners of war as payment for food and accommodation.

As the nearest cell phone reception is 3 km away from the farm, there is no disturbance of ringing cell phones, but a land-line telephone, satellite internet and satellite TV is available for those who cannot do without these facilities. There is plenty of natural game and many birds to be seen. Hiking trails take you to San Rock Paintings, a large dam for fishing, a waterfall and beautiful views of the Karoo.

If you stay a few days, you can even make your own cottage cheese, and sample some of our home made cheeses.

The South African Holiday Farm 'Beestekuil', is situated 50km North-East of Middelburg Eastern Cape. Accommodation is provided on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis.
