Description
Durbanites and tourists are invited to come and connect at the Umkhumbane Flea Market – the City’s exciting new grassroots trading spot, where the traditional meets the contemporary. The market promises to be vibey with a variety of things to do and see in safe and pleasant surroundings.

The market is named after the Umkhumbane River which flows past the well-located site on the corner of Bellair and Booth Roads next to the Sasol Garage. It’s a short drive from the University along Francois Road or past the Pavilion from the Westville side.

Dubbed the flea market “where people connect”, the vision is that Durbanites and tourists will enjoy a leisurely shop on Sundays, ambling past busking musicians and dancers; to browse at stalls selling traditional ethnic wear, funky clothing, rich textiles, African curios and carvings, jewellery, and ceramics.

Umkhumbane Flea Market will be open every Sunday from 9am – 4pm. There is safe parking and clean toilets.

The Umkhumbane Flea Market takes place at the corner of Booth and Bellair Roads, near the Pavilion.
